8/22/21 - Kalamazoo Co Sheriff Sgt Ryan Proxmire funeral

Kalamazoo County Sheriff Deputy Ryan Proxmire was killed during a vehicle pursuit of an armed man that was trying to evade police. During the chase, the suspect fired at the pursuing police vehicles. One of the shots struck Deputy Proxmire which caused him to go off the road. He died from his injury the following day. Ryan Proxmire was posthumously promoted to Sergeant. His funeral services were held on Sunday, August 22, 2021.
