Summit Township Fire Captain Scott Thornton was killed while battling a house fire when he became disoriented and trapped inside the structure, running out of air. 3 other firefighters were injured. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 24, 2005. Captain Thornton left behind his wife and 2 children.
