6/12/22 - Onondaga house fire, 4371 Byrum Rd

The Onondaga, Leslie, and Hamlin Twp fire departments were dispatched to a house fire at 4371 Byrum Rd a little after 2 AM on Sunday morning, June 12, 2022. The occupant initially reported fire in her ceiling, then later advised the fire was in the attic. Additional Mutual aid was requested from Mason and Rives-Tompkins. Fire was starting to burn through the roof on arrival. Firefighters initiated an exterior attack until enough personnel arrived on scene to go interior. Interior crews had a hard time getting to the fire due to the construction of the home. After a lengthy fight, the fire was brought under control just as an isolated, heavy rain shower gathered overhead. Personnel continued their exhaustive efforts to access all affected parts of the structure for overhaul.
