3/10/20 - Mason chimney fire, 125 Royce St

At 8:21 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, the Mason, Delhi Twp, and Dansville fire departments were dispatched to a chimney fire at 125 Royce St in Mason. On arrival, command directed the first arriving engine to pull a preconnect and extinguish the fire on the roof, there appeared to be no extension into the residence. After the initial knockdown, firefighters alternated applying extinguishing agent from the top and bottom of the chimney, as well as clearing out the smoldering material inside until they were satisfied the fire would not reignite.
