3/24/21 - Eaton Rapids Twp garage fire, 2110 S. Waverly Rd

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at approximately 7 PM, the Eaton Rapids Twp, Eaton Rapids, Hamlin Twp, and Onondaga fire departments were dispatched to a structure fire at 2110 S. Waverly Rd. First arriving command found a pole barn garage type structure fully involved. Siding was melting off the house nearby and a grass fire was blowing along the property line toward the street. When the first apparatus arrived, firefighters were able to quickly knock down the bulk of the fire. Additional personnel were utilized to stop the grass fire and a leaf fire across the street that had started from blown embers. Extensive overhaul was completed before crews were released.
