12/9/21 - Williamston house fire, 2030 E. Holt Rd

On Thursday, December 9, 2021, both NIESA stations and Dansville Fire were dispatched to a house fire at 2030 E. Holt Rd. Command requested additional mutual aid from Mason and Fowlerville based on updated information while still en route. On arrival, command reported 1/3 of the house was involved in fire, which appeared to be in the basement as well. No residents were outside of the house, but 2 large dogs prompted command to request Ingham County Animal Control to respond since they did not appear happy to have strangers in their yard. The initial attack was from the exterior to knock down the main body of fire. As additional manpower arrived, lines were stretched to make entry from the "C" side to finish extinquishment and check for interior extension. Caution was exercised due to weakened floor conditions. A cat was brought out from the home and turned over to the homeowner. Extensive overhaul assured the fire was completely out. No firefighters were injured.
