12/13/21 - Stockbridge building fire, 240 Fogg Rd

Just after 1 AM on Monday, December 13, 2021, the SAESA, Dansville, and Leslie fire departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Wheel Inn Campground, 240 Fogg Rd. The first arriving personnel reported the office building was completely engulfed in fire. Additional mutual aid was requested from the Henrietta and Mason fire departments for tankers and manpower. The first engine on scene was deployed for exposure protection for multiple occupied trailers exposed to radiant heat and embers on the east side of the building. The second engine to arrive pulled lines to protect a trailer and a large propane tank directly adjacent to the west of the building. Firefighters then went to work knocking down the fire as tankers started arriving for water supply. Extensive overhaul was required, including a very large supply of firewood that was stacked in part of the building. The fire was prevented from extending farther than the building of origin.
