9/3/20 - Leslie commercial building fire, 165 S. Main
On Thursday, September 3, 2020, the Leslie Fire Department responded to a fire in a commercial building in downtown Leslie. The call came in at 12:40 PM, sending the Leslie, Onondaga, and Henrietta Twp fire departments on the run. The first arriving units arrived to a 2 story commercial structure with a business on the first floor and apartments above. There was light smoke and fire showing from the top of the stairway on the "D" side of the building, going to 165-1/2 S. Main St. Additional mutual aid was requested from the Mason and Delhi Township fire departments. First arriving Leslie Engine 740 pulled a preconnect for fire attack while the engineer connected to a hydrant for water supply. A back up line was stretched as personnel became available. Mason Truck 808 went the the "C" side of the structure to check the roof. The fire was knocked down quickly and all areas were thoroughly checked for hot spots or extension.
