6/17/20 - Eaton Rapids house fire, 412 Dutton

Just before 10:45 AM on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, the Eaton Rapids, Eaton Rapids Twp, and Hamlin Twp fire departments were dispatched to a house fire at 412 Dutton St in Eaton Rapids. The fire arriving command unit reported a small, single story residence fully involved. Eaton Rapids Engine 511 was first to arrive and began an attack on the flames and Hamlin Twp Engine 1312 secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant. Eaton Area Ambulance arrived to assess the homeowner and provide EMS standby during firefighting operations. The fire was quickly brought under control and extensive overhaul was required. A pet was rescued from inside the home and treated with oxygen before being taken to a veterinary clinic.
