7/22/16 - Leslie car fire, US-127 north of Baseline Rd
On Friday, July 22, 2016, at 6:27 PM the Leslie & Onondaga fire departments were dispatched to a car fire on northbound US-127 north of Baseline Rd. Onondaga was covering part of Leslie's response area due to Leslie covering Dansville. Onondaga was already out on a medical call, so Tanker 1262 responded almost immediately. Mason was also staffed with a full crew and offered to respond an engine down the highway and a few minutes later Leslie Engine 741 responded from the Leslie station. Onondaga's tanker arrived first and began attacking a fire under the hood of a small SUV off the side of the road. Leslie's engine arrived next and provided manpower to begin opening up the involved area. Mason was cancelled on arrival which was about the same time Rives Township arrived on scene with an engine after their county received calls on this as well. The engine compartment fire was quickly extinguished after the 4 departments responded with 4 engines and a tanker.
