6/9/16 - Delhi Twp house fire, 2105 Burton St
At 9:37 PM on Tuesday, June 9, 2016, the Delhi Township Fire Department was dispatched with automatic aid from the Lansing Fire Department to a house fire at 2105 Burton St. First arriving units had heavy fire coming from a one story ranch house, with all occupants reported out. Initial hazards included a nearby apartment building as an exposure, live electrical lines down along one side of the house, and fencing making access difficult to all sides but the front. The attack was switched from offensive to defensive mode several times as firefighters worked to stop the fire spread in the attic of the house. Additional crews responded from Lansing, upgrading to a full first alarm assignment and mutual aid was requested from the Mason Fire Department for an engine with manpower. Consumers Energy arrived to de-energize the downed power lines. Fencing and landscaping were also moved to allow full access to the structure. The fire was believed to have originated in the garage, no personnel were injured.
