5/15/15 - Delhi Twp extrication, US-127 north of Willoughby Rd

Two drivers were injured during the morning rush hour on Friday, May 15, 2015. The driver of an SUV failed to observe slowed traffic on northbound US-127 and struck another SUV from behind. Both vehicles then went off into the median, one of them rolling over several times. When police arrived, the Delhi Township Fire Department was requested for extrication of the driver in the vehicle that rolled. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle, then made relief cuts to peel the roof back far enough to safely remove the driver (removal of the driver's door occurred while the vehicle was repeatedly rolling over). Firefighters then assisted Lansing-Mason Ambulance personnel with patient packaging and carrying the patient back up the hill to the ambulance.
