3/2/15 - Mason house fire, 1984 W. Howell Rd

The Mason Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1984 W. Howell Rd on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1:30 AM. First arriving command reported heavy fire showing from the front of a small square footage single story wood frame house. Mutual aid was requested from the Dansville and Delhi Township fire departments for tankers & manpower. The size of the home allowed for quick knockdown of the visible fire, but the home required extensive overhaul due to it's complete involvement. Live power lines down near the front door created an obstacle and interior operations were complicated by the floor being burned through in the front room. The fire is believed to have been caused by improper use of space heaters.
