4/13/13 - Eaton Rapids Twp live burn training exercise, 148 S. Gunnell

On Saturday, April 13, 2013, the Eaton Rapids Township Fire Department hosted one last training day at a house & barn located at 148 S. Gunnell Rd. Firefighters from Benton Twp, Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Eaton Rapids Township, Hamlin Township, Olivet & Windsor Township participated in training for the entire morning. The south strike team of the Eaton County Tanker Task Force utilized this opportunity to train in tanker shuttle operations. Training stations in the buildings included exercises in search & rescue, calling a mayday, window bailouts, firefighter team building, rescuing a firefighter down, and communications. Several live fire sets were conducted to train personnel in fire behavior. The structures were then burned and the long task of cleaning up began.
