4/12/13 - Mason house fire, 3822 W. Columbia Rd

The Mason Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire at 3822 W. Columbia Rd on Friday, April 12, 2013 at approximately 2:30 AM. 1st arriving police units confirmed a working fire so, while still en route, command requested mutual aid tankers and manpower from the Delhi Township and Onondaga fire departments. On arrival there was heavy fire showing from the back of the house, a one story addition added on to a two story farmhouse. All occupants were confirmed out of the house, however pets were still inside. Mason Engine 809 was the first apparatus on scene and their crew had the visible fire knocked down in just over two minutes. Additional apparatus and personnel were utilized for primary search, checking for extension, ventilation and overhaul. The fire was contained to the room of origin.
