3/30/13 - Eaton Rapids Twp barn fire, 464 S. Smith Rd

At approximately 11:23 AM on Saturday, March 30, 2013, the Eaton Rapids Township Fire Department responded to a grass and barn fire at 464 S. Smith Rd. Automatic aid was dispatched from the Eaton Rapids and Hamlin Township fire departments. Additional assistance was requested from the Windsor Twp Fire Department when responding units observed a large plume of smoke from a distance. Grass rigs were also requested from the Charlotte & Mason fire departments to help bring the grass fire under control. This fire originated as a controlled burn which spread into the grass and started the structure on fire.
