9/1/12 - Jackson "woof" rescue, 903 W. Washington
Shortly before 1:30 PM on Saturday, September 1, 2012, Jackson Fire Department Ladder 1 was requested to assist police with getting a dog off the roof of a house at 903 W. Washington. Nobody was home at the time the dog climbed out on the roof, so police were unable to gain access through the house. Ladder 1 arrived and positioned in the driveway to raise the aerial. To the cheers of watching neighbors, the Captain was then able to coax the dog over to him so that he could safely remove him. The owner arrived while the rescue was in progress, but police still took the dog in custody and turned him over to the animal shelter.
