10/9/11 - Mason structure fire, 204 N. Cedar St

At 4:35 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2011, the Mason Fire Department was dispatched for a report of a fire in the apartment above the Westside Deli at 204 N. Cedar St in Mason. First arriving command found light smoke coming from the "C-D" coner at street level and believed a basement fire was in progress. Crews gained entry to the business and found no signs of fire inside the building. It was then determined that only a small portion of the exterior siding was involved and the smoldering fire was quickly extinguished. Careless use of smoking materials is the suspected cause of this alarm.
