11/9/22 - Bridgeport field fire, 4819 Washington

At about noon on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, the Bridgeport Fire Department was sent to a field fire behind 4819 Washington Rd. The first arriving unit discovered a fast spreading fire in a field of corn stubble. The fire was moving towards a residential area. Mutual aid was requested from Spaulding Twp, Frankenmuth, and Birch Run, for grass rigs and manpower. A nearby school was asked to keep all children inside until the fire could be knocked down.
