1/17/23 - Bath Twp house fire, 15305 Gary Ln

Just after 8:30 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, the Bath Twp Fire Department was dispatched with automatic aid to a house fire at 15305 Gary Ln. Police confirmed a well involved fire as units were still en route, so command requested a 2nd alarm. On arrival there was heavy fire showing from the "A" side of a small, one story home. A defensive strategy was used to attack this fire. Since the closest hydrant was two blocks farther down the dead end road, tankers that were already responding were used to supply porta-tanks and then refill from the hydrant. After the fire was knocked down, an excavator was called in to move some of the debris from inside the structure to help extinguish hot spots. Bath Twp received mutual aid from Dewitt Twp, Dewitt Area, LSW (Laingsburg), Delta Twp (Looking Glass), East Lansing, and Meridian Twp fire departments.
