At 7:09 AM on Monday, January 17, 2022, the Delhi Township and Lansing fire departments were dispatched to a report of a commercial building full of smoke at 2330 Jarco Dr. Command arrived reporting smoke pushing from the eaves of the building. Firefighters entered the building attempting to locate the fire. Additional mutual aid was requested from Mason for an engine & manpower. Lansing Truck 46 set up to vent the roof from the A-B corner. The roof started sagging and all personnel were pulled out of the building by command. An additional engine was requested to assist from Meridian Twp, and Mason responded to continue roof work from the D side of the building. Firefighters were able to locate the seat of the fire from the outside and accessed the area thru a nearby service door and breaching a wall. The main body of fire was then quickly extinguished. Truck 46 used their water to make sure the fire in the attic space was extinguished as well. When Mason's aerial was put up, the roof on the D side was also opened up. The 2 truck companies made sure all hot spots were addressed.
