1/1/22 - Meridian Twp house fire, 1858 Shadywood

Meridian Township firefighters responded to their first structure fire of the year at approximately 10:20 PM on New Year's Day. East Lansing Fire Station 2 was dispatched on automatic aid with Meridian to a reported house fire at 1858 Shadywood. When firefighters arrived, smoke and fire was pushing out a window of the 2nd floor. Command requested additional aid from the Mason Fire Department due to the potential of extension. The fast action of the first arriving firefighters held this fire to the original room and contents. Thorough overhaul was completed before clearing.
