10/28/22 - The Great Divide

The Meridian Township Fire Department and East Lansing Fire Department participated in an annual competition sponsored by The Home Depot on Friday, October 28, 2022. The two departments meet each year to face the challenge of who can cut a car in half quicker. Each team is allowed time to prep their car to get it ready for the cut. Then at 2:00 PM the stopwatch starts as both teams race to be the first to divide their car. This year the Meridian team won with a cut time of 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
