10/26/19 - Onondaga double extrication, Onondaga & Kinneville
At about 6:30 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2019, the Onondaga Fire Department and Lansing-Mason Ambulance Service were dispatched to a crash with unknown injuries at the corner of Onondaga Rd & Kinneville Rd. The call came from a nearby resident that heard the crash but could not see it. When first units arrived it was discovered that two vehicles were involved with heavy impact damage and 2 patients trapped in each vehicle. One vehicle also had a dog inside. Onondaga command requested mutual aid from the Leslie Fire Department for additional manpower. EMS command requested additional ambulances to the scene, including a mutual aid ambulance from Eaton Area EMS. Survival Flight was requested for one patient and Leslie firefighters were delegated the task of setting up an LZ. Firefighters went to work creating enough space to remove the patients. After all the victims had been removed, personnel stood by to mitigate hazards as the vehicles were removed from the scene. All victims received non-life threatening injuries.
