11/7/19 - Eaton Rapids Twp house fire, 160 S Michigan Rd

The Eaton Rapids Township, Eaton Rapids, and Hamlin Township fire departments were dispatched to a basement fire in a home at 160 S. Michigan Rd at approximately 10:15 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2019. First arriving command confirmed a working structure fire with heavy smoke showing. Additional mutual aid was requested for a tanker from Windsor Township. Firefighters entered the basement to knock down the main fire, then spent time opening up areas of hidden extension. All occupants of the home were outside on arrival of the fire department, but one resident was urgently transported to the hospital by Windsor Township EMS. A dog was rescued from inside by firefighters.
