3/25/18 - Lansing commercial building fire, Spring St & River St
At 7:10 PM on Sunday, March 25, 2018, the Lansing Fire Department responded to a reported fire in a small out building at the corner of Spring & River. 4 engines, 2 trucks, 1 medic and the battalion chief were dispatched. Command could see a large plume of black smoke as they pulled out of the station, so an additional engine was requested to respond. On arrival, Battalion 41 reported a large pole barn type structure well involved. Apparatus were also advised this had a bow truss roof and would be an defensive attack. Using a master stream from Truck 41 and some handlines, the fire was quickly controlled. Firefighters then performed overhaul, opening the walls from the exterior to be sure all the fire was out.
