9/13/17 - Onondaga extrication, Onondaga Rd north of Stimson Rd
Just before 2:40 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, the Onondaga Twp Fire Department, Lansing-Mason Ambulance Service and Ingham County Sheriff Rescue unit were dispatched to a single vehicle crash with a person pinned on Onondaga Rd north of Stimson Rd. On arrival, rescuers found a small SUV that went off the road and struck a tree while rolling over. Extrication was required to get the only occupant out of the vehicle. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle, removed the passenger back door and flapped the roof to make enough room for patient removal. The patient was rapidly secured and removed to the waiting ambulance. Survival Flight was dispatched to the scene and assisted ambulance personnel when the arrived, but they did not transport. The Leslie Fire Department was requested by command for manpower to help set up a landing zone.
