6/24/17 - Leoni Twp, American Towman Spirit Ride relay stop

On Saturday, June 24, 2017, the American Towman Spirit Ride made a relay stop at Phelp's Towing in Leoni Twp. The Spirit Ride is a non profit organization meant to draw attention and support to the move over-slow down laws that are in place on our nation's highways. While primarily supporting tow truck drivers, the drive also supports the safety of police, fire and EMS personnel who have to operate on our roads. The ceremony began with the lowering of a ceremonial casket from the back of a tow truck. A spirit stick was passed amongst the participants, and several songs and speeches were performed. The casket was then loaded on to another tow truck and at the conclusion of the service a brief procession was conducted including many of the emergency service vehicles.
