3/17/17 - Parma-Sandstone Twp house fire, 2376 N. Concord
At 1:02 in the afternoon of St Patrick's Day 2017, the Parma Fire Department was dispatched to check for a house fire on Concord Rd north of I-94. One call was received from a passerby reporting the fire. At the time of dispatch, mutual aid was requested for the Sheridan Township Fire Department to also respond. Responding units reported flames and smoke showing from a one story manufactured home and a MABAS 3rd alarm was requested. This brought additional help from the Concord, Springport and Albion Township fire departments, the Albion Department of Public Safety and the air trailer from the Henrietta Township Fire Department. Command requested mutual aid from Spring Arbor as well. Sheridian Township firefighters were first to arrive, using preconnects and their bumper line to attack the fire. Parma Engine 2 set up to supply Sheridan Township's engine with the mutual aid tankers keeping Parma's engine full. Firefighters hit the fire from the outside and entered to stop it's progress into the uninvolved part of the home. Extensive overhaul was required. There were no injuries, but several pets died in this blaze.
