3/16/17 - East Lansing house fire, 456 Buteo

Early in the afternoon of Thursday, March 16, 2017, the East Lansing Fire Department responded to a house fire at 456 Buteo. First arriving command reported a two story house with heavy fire on the "C" side and evidence of extension into the attic space. Mutual aid had already been called to respond from the Lansing and Meridian Township fire departments. East Lansing firefighters made an aggressive interior attack, knocking down the visible fire in the living areas as well as accessing the attic space to stop the hidden spread of the flames. Lansing and Meridian Township firefighters arrived to assist with completing extinguishment and performing overhaul. Firefighters made quick work of the fire and had it under control within 20 minutes.
