1/30/17 - Mason chimney fire, 4676 Barnes Rd

At approximately 4:50 PM on Monday, January 30, 2017, another MABAS box alarm was dispatched for a chimney fire at 4676 Barnes Rd. A passerby reported flames coming from the chimney as they went by. The Mason, Delhi Township and Onondaga fire departments were dispatched. When command arrived, there was nothing visible from the exterior, once going inside they reported a confirmed fire in the chimney. Firefighters went inside to remove the hazards and check for extension while Mason firefighters accessed the chimney from the roof to clean out what they could from the top.
