12/11/17 - Mason extrication, 1200 block of Barnes Rd

At 6:17 PM on Monday, December 11, 2017, the Mason Fire Department, Lansing-Mason Ambulance Service and Ingham Co Sheriff Rescue were dispatched to a car vs tree with entrapment in the 1200 block of Barnes Rd. A single vehicle was involved, with one occupant who lost control of his vehicle, sliding into a tree in heavy snow conditions. The Lansing-Mason Ambulance Service arrived on scene first and made the decision to perform a rapid extrication before rescue crews arrived. With the assistance of first arriving responders, the patient was quickly removed from the vehicle and transferred to the ambulance. Fire crews checked and secured the vehicle for potential hazards before clearing the scene.
