10/21/17 - Mason extrication, 916 W. Dansville Rd
At about 1:45 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2017, a sheriff's unit on routine patrol came across a large amount of debris in the roadway in the 900 block of W. Dansville Rd. Turning around to investigate, a rolled over pick up truck was discovered with the driver trapped inside. Mason firefighters and Lansing-Mason Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. On arrival, the driver was unresponsive and barely breathing. Extrication consisted of opening the driver's door and removing the patient onto a backboard. Since no information could be obtained from the driver, firefighters then conducted a foot search of the entire crash scene looking for any other occupants that may have been in the vehicle. After police conducted a precautionary accident reconstruction investigation, the vehicle was removed in pieces by Shroyer's Towing.
