2/19/16 - Onondaga garage fire, 4941 Walker Rd

On Friday, February 19, 2016, at 7:05 PM, a MABAS box alarm for the Onondga, Leslie & Mason fire departments was dispatched to 4941 Walker Rd in Onondaga Township for a garage fire. When command first arrived he reported a pole barn style garage fully involved in flames and requested additional tankers from the Rives-Tompkins Twp and Hamlin Twp fire departments. Evening temperatures were unseasonably warm in the low 50's, wind gusts were equally as high and contributed to the fast spread of the fire through the structure. Firefighters had nothing left to protect when they arrived, the building and it's contents were completely destroyed.
