10/20/16 - Michigan State Police live burn training exercise - 5083 Mulliken Rd

A live burn exercise was conducted by the Michigan State Police on Thursday, October 20, 2016. The purpose of the exercise was to create and extinguish fire sets for students in the MSP fire investigation school to investigate the following week. Local firefighters were called upon to assist with the burn and the Charlotte Fire Department was joined by firefighters from the Vermontville Township Fire Department to assist with fire control. With the expertise of the MSP Bomb Squad, several sets were ignited simultaneously and allowed to burn for a short time before firefighters extinguished the fires and performed minor overhaul.
