7/30/15 - Rives-Tompkins Twp pole barn fire, 12650 State Rd

Just before 3:30 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2015, the Rives-Tompkins Fire Department was dispatched to a fully involved pole barn fire at 12650 State Rd. First arriving command from neighboring Leslie Fire Department requested a full response from the Leslie and Onondaga fire departments, Rives-Tompkins command also requested assistance from the Henrietta Township Fire Department. When Rives Engine 1 arrived, the first priority was to prevent further damage to the home that was an exposure on the 'B' side. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the large body of fire and made entry into the home to check for extension. One civilian was treated and transported by Lansing-Mason Ambulance for exposure to smoke. No firefighters were injured.
