12/14/15 - Dansville house fire, 130 W. Howell Rd

At 13 minutes past midnight on Monday, December 14, 2015, the Williamston, Leroy Twp and Mason fire departments were dispatched to respond to a house fire at the NW corner of Howell & Meridian Rds in Ingham Township. Just minutes after dispatch, police reported a fully involved home and Williamston command requested a full response from the Dansville (Ingham Township) Fire Department and a tanker from the Delhi Township Fire Department. First arriving Dansville Chief 301 reported a two story home 100% engulfed in fire, and just prior to the first engine arriving a couple minutes behind him, he reported the home had completely collapsed. Mason Engine 809 was first on scene and deployed their deck gun with tank water as Tanker 807 set up water supply. Firefighters stretched lines to extinguish what was left of the home, which only had the garage still standing. Firefighting was helped by the record setting 60 degree temperature, but hampered by strong winds blowing from the south. When the fire was declared under control, the crews from Williamston & Leroy Twp were released. No firefighters were injured during the exterior attack, the cause of the fire was still under investigation. No one was home when the fire was reported.
