3/7/14 - Lansing multiple vehicle crash, I-96 @ Washington Ave

During the morning rush hour on Friday, March 7, 2014, several cars collided while traveling eastbound on I-96 near the overpass over Washington Ave in Lansing. This is in an automatic mutual response area, so Lansing Engine 44, Engine 46 & Battalion 41 responded with Delhi Township Medic 212 & Car 21 to the crash reportedly involving up to 12 cars. On arrival the eastbound lanes were completely blocked and all traffic stopped. Most of the vehicles involved sustained only minor damage and after assessing all of the people involved, there were no patients found wanting treatment. While the eastbound incident was being handled, four vehicles were involved in crashes on the westbound side. One truck driver was transported from that incident with minor injuries.
