2/8/13 - Delta Twp apartment fire, 227 Gatewood Dr

At 12:13 PM on Friday, February 8, 2013, the Delta Township Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on the 3rd floor of 227 Gatewood Dr. The fire was reported to have started in the kitchen, but firefighters arrived to a fully involved apartment with heavy fire pushing out the "C" side of the building. Rescues were made from the balcony of an adjoining apartment as personnel gained entry to the seat of the fire. Delta Township received automatic aid from the Lansing Township Fire Department, and made additional calls for assistance from the Grand Ledge and Windsor Township fire departments. The fire was contained to the apartment of origin, with many other apartments damaged by smoke & water. These photos were taken during overhaul & rehab.
