2/7/12 - Onondaga house fire, 3735 Bellevue Rd
At 11:17 PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, the Onondaga Fire Department responded to a call of a house filling with smoke at 3735 Bellevue Rd. First arriving personnel had heavy fire showing through the roof of a large ranch style log home. A quick assessment inside revealed that the fire was completely in the attic. Due to the advanced involvement of the attic space, command made this an exterior attack and additional water resources were requested. 1-3/4 & 2-1/2 attack lines were pulled from Engine 1261 to begin extinguishment. When Ladder 1260 arrived, they set up in front of the house to deploy their Tele-Squrt. Engine 1261 stretched a supply line half way down the long driveway to a staging area by a pole barn were porta-tanks were set up. Leslie Engine 741 set up to pump back up the drive to Engine 1261, which was also supplying Ladder 1260. Tankers from Onondaga, Leslie, Mason, Dansville, Hamlin Twp, Rives Twp & Stockbridge staged in the road until needed to bring water up the drive to keep the tanks full. Mutual aid manpower was requested to respond from Leslie, Mason, Dansvile & Hamlin Twp fire departments.
