6/18/11 - Mason PI accident, Aurelius & Curtice

A 7 year old was injured when the car he was riding in lost control and struck a tree on Saturday, June 18. The car was traveling north on Aurelius Rd just before Curtice Rd when a tire blew out and the driver lost control. The Mason Fire Department, Ingham Co Sheriff Rescue Squad and Delhi Township Fire Department Ambulance (on mutual aid to Lansing-Mason Ambulance) were dispatched around 7:10 PM. The original information reported the car was on it's side with a person unable to get out, but the car was upright with no extrication required when personnel arrived. Of the 4 people inside the car, three adults refused treatment and 1 child was transported by EMS. The driver of the car was placed in sheriff's custody at the scene for investigation of driving while intoxicated.
