5/10/11 - Rives Tompkins Twp rekindle & overhaul, 10500 Somervill Rd

The Rives-Tompkins Township Fire Department confronted a well involved split-level dwelling fire at 10500 Somervill Rd around 10:30 PM on the evening of May 9. Shortly before 7:30 AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, the department received a call of a possible rekindle. First arriving Engine 3 reported flames coming from the roof of the two story portion and requested a retone for manpower as well as a mutual aid response from the Leslie Fire Department. A few minutes later additional mutual aid was requested for tankers and manpower from the Henrietta Township and Onondaga fire departments. These departments spent approximately two hours doing extensive overhaul and used foam to complete extinguishment of the heavily damaged home.
