Sometime during the early morning hours of Friday, February 25, 2011, a northbound vehicle failed to negotiate a sharp curve and struck a tree in the front yard of 1734 Brogan Rd in White Oak Township. The high speed impact separated the vehicle into several pieces. Residents first noticed the snow covered wreckage around 6:30 AM and called 911. A 20 year old man was the only occupant of the vehicle and was still trapped in the wreckage. Stockbridge Fire & EMS (SAESA) responded on the initial call. When it was determined the patient was not viable, the scene was left with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's command requested the department's heavy rescue unit to respond for extrication of the victim once the investigation was completed.
