2/11/11 - Mason extrication, 3600 block of W. Columbia Rd
An SUV lost control on snowy and drifting roads and rolled over while traveling eastbound on Columbia Rd, west of College Rd, on Friday night, February 11, 2011. The Ingham County Sheriff's Office and Lansing-Mason Ambulance Service were dispatched for the unknown injury accident at 11:57 PM. Extrication resources were dispatched 10 minutes later with PD on scene reporting a vehicle on it's side with one patient needing extrication. When Mason Fire Department Rescue 806 arrived, the vehicle was stabilized before firefighters removed the windshield to make room for patient removal. Personnel encountered knee deep snowdrifts to complete the 25 minute extrication. Tanker 811 and Tower 808 were positioned at intersections on both ends for traffic control. The patient was alert and conscious during the incident and received non-life threatening injuries.
