12/3/11 - Dansville live burn training exercise, 750 Burkley Rd

The Dansville Fire Department hosted a live burn training exercise on Saturday morning, December 3, 2011. Firefighters from Dansville, Williamston (NIESA), Leroy Twp (NIESA) and Onondaga participated in the exercise in a one story home. Several small fire sets were completed for firefighters to practice entry and extinguishment, then the home was set on fire in several places and allowed to burn. The Ingham County Tanker Task Force used this opportunity as a training exercise for the east side participating agencies. Tankers from the Dansville, Leroy Twp (NIESA), Williamston (NIESA), Stockbridge (SAESA), Fowlerville and Unadilla Township fire departments trucked in over 56,000 gallons of water during the exercise. The Onondaga Fire Department utilized a draft truck at a pond on the property to supply a Williamston pumper which was providing charged lines for an emergency backup.
