10/31/11 - Flint house fire, 220 Franklin St

Around 1:35 AM on Monday October 31, 2001, a house fire was reported by neighbors at 220 S. Franklin St. A Devil's Night Task Force for the Flint Fire Department responded. Task Force 1, consisting of a truck and squad company from the Flint Fire Department and an engine from the Linden Fire Department, reported an occupied 2 story house with fire showing from the back on arrival. Firefighters quickly forced entry to the home which was heavily charged with black smoke. Primary search and extinguishment inside were top priority. Exterior fire conditions showed potential for extension into the attic. Command requested additional personnel from Station 1 staging which sent a truck from Clinton Area Fire & Rescue and a squad from Gaines Township Fire Department. The fire was rapidly extinguished with minimal extension to the interior or attic and searches found no victims.
