8/29/10 - Mason car fire, 511 Center St.

A Mason police officer on routine patrol discovered a garage with a large amount of smoke coming from it at 511 Center St. The police officer investigated to find a fire in a car inside the garage and the Mason Fire Department was requested to respond at 8:13 AM on Sunday, August 29, 2010. Firefighters arrived to find a 2 car unattached garage with smoke showing. When personnel entered they discovered an incipient fire involving the interior of the car which was quickly doused with minimal water using a preconnect hoseline from Engine 809. The Lansing-Mason Ambulance Service was requested to respond to treat a civilian with smoke inhalation and he was transported by EMS to the hospital for evaluation. The fire is believed to have been intentionally started.
