6/10/10 - Onondaga barn fire, 4121 Gale Rd
On Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 9:31 PM, the Onondaga Fire Department was dispatched to a barn fire at 4121 Gale Rd. First fire personnel on the scene reported a hip roof barn completely involved. A large number of tires were discarded in and near the involved barn with a second barn adjacent to it in immediate peril. Onondaga firefighters directed their primary attention to the exposure barn, the primary structure was beyond saving. Mutual aid tankers and manpower were requested from the Eaton Rapids Township, Hamlin Township, Leslie and Mason fire departments. As more water resources arrived on scene, firefighters began extinguishing the main body of fire. Personnel used foam during the overhauling stages to try to put out the smoldering ruins.
