5/13/10 - Leslie house fire, 314 Woodworth
On Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 1:07 AM, the Leslie Fire Department was dispatched to a reported car fire at 314 Woodworth St. The first arriving command officer discovered a fully involved pick up truck in a driveway between two houses. In a very short time from his arrival, the home right next to the truck became involved and command ordered dispatch to retone his department for a structure response. Within another minute the house at 312 Woodworth was also starting to burn and mutual aid was requested to assist. Firefighters arrived and put first water in play to try to prevent the fire spread into the dwellings. The extension to 312 was easily knocked down but the fire had already extended into the attic spaces of the two story house at 314. Mutual aid manpower responded from Onondaga, Mason & Dansville fire departments to assist Leslie firefighters with controlling this blaze. Entry was gained from holes in the roof and through the ceiling below to make complete extinguishment and overhaul. There were no injuries.
