3/8/10 - Dansville house fire, 1349 South St

On Monday, March 8, 2010 at 00:42 Hrs, the Dansville Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire only a few blocks from the firehouse. Automatic mutual aid was simultaneously dispatched requesting response from the Stockbridge Fire Department. First in Dansville firefighters reported a two story home completely engulfed in fire with live power lines laying across the road in front of the house. With the advanced fire conditions and weakened structure of the home, this was strictly an exterior attack. Additional mutual aid was requested from the Mason Fire Department. Water supply on the east side of the fire was provided by Dansville & Stockbridge tankers, while Mason firefighters laid in several hundred feet of large diameter supply line from a hydrant several block away to provide water supply from the west.
